SDI’s latest Brown Bag talk focuses on Covid-19 vaccination campaign in Sarawak

KUCHING, April 15: Sarawak Development Institute (SDI) will be organising a virtual Brown Bag talk titled ‘Sarawak Covid-19 Vaccination Campaign’ in an effort to provide the public with the latest accurate information on the vaccine.

SDI in a press statement today said the talk will be held on Avpril 20, 2021 (Tuesday), starting from 2.30pm until 4.30pm via Zoom.

“As Sarawak enters the second phase of the vaccination, SDI believes it is crucial to provide accurate and up-to-date information to enhance the public’s knowledge and confidence in this public health campaign,” it said.


The talk will be delivered by Professor of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) Prof Datu Dr Andrew Kiyu Dawie Usop, and Public Health Specialist, Principal Assistant Director, Family Health Development Section, Sarawak State Health Department Dr Radziah Mohamad.

It said Datu Dr Andrew Kiyu Dawie Usop, who is also the Chairman of the Sarawak Covid-19 Vaccine Advisory Group (SCoVAG) in the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee will be sharing on the need for Covid-19 vaccines, the types of Covid-19 vaccines, and safety and efficacy of the vaccines.

“Dr Radziah Mohamad will present on the Sarawak vaccination campaign including the communication strategies adopted to keep members of the public informed,” it added.
