SCCCI assists 431 companies apply for allowances under Perkeso’s new employee hiring scheme

SIBU, April 10: Sibu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI) has assisted 431 companies with a total of 1,559 new employees to apply for employment allowances under Penjana Kerjaya 2.0 and 3.0.

SCCI in a statement today said most of the applications have been approved while the rest are still undergoing the approval process.

“The Covid-19 epidemic has affected people from all walks of lives. In the face of a major impact, the government has provided generous subsidies through the Social Security Organisation (Socso) in the People’s Benefit Programme, and eligible companies can apply under the JaminKerja (employment incentive allowance) programme,”it said.

JaminKerja has started accepting applications with a new employee allowance of up to RM42,000.

Through this programme, the government hopes to encourage companies to hire unemployed persons and graduates. From January 1, 2022 to June 30, 2022, both unemployed persons and graduates may apply.

SCCI said since JaminKerja is approved by Socso, the application may only be made if the employee submits it.

The conditions for application are:

  • Salary RM1,200, new employee unemployed for more than 6 months before joining the company
  • Salary RM1,500 or above, employee aged below 49, new employee unemployed for 2 months before joining the company
  • Salary RM1m500 or above, employee aged above 50, new employee unemployed for 2 months before joining your company.
