It revealed that for recipients with a registered bank account, the financial aid of RM250 per month will be credited into the recipient’s account on the 15th of every month from April to September.

The State Secretary noted that for more than 23,000 recipients who do not have a bank account, the financial aid will be channelled to the respective state treasury branch office nearest the recipient in two phases.

It disclosed that the first phase will be from April 15 to 30 and the second phase from Aug 15 to 30.

On March 23, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg announced that the B40 income group would receive RM250 for six months from April to September.

The financial aid was meant to assist the low-income group of Sarawakians in facing the cost of living and financial burden as a result of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

In the meantime, the state government encouraged the public to use SarawakPay for any purchases to prevent the spread of Covid-19.—DayakDaily
