KUCHING, Nov 9: Six teams from Sarawak showcased their dedication, commitment, and strong team spirit by securing Gold Awards at the 48th International Convention on Quality Control Circle (ICQCC) held at the Beijing Yanqi Lake International Convention Centre from Oct 30 to Nov 1.
The winning teams and their respective projects are as follows:
- D’Isthmus, Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) – Project: “Ineffectiveness in Disseminating Information of Halal Compliance on SEDC Entrepreneurs’ Food Premises”
- Sharks, Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) – Project: “Inefficient Processing of Non-Compliance Cases for Timber Industry”
- THE SEARCH, Department of Agriculture Sarawak – Project: “Difficulty Crushing of Dabai Seeds for Commercialization”
- BORNEENSIS 2, Forest Department Sarawak – Project: “Speedball Blaster”
- VTech 12, Land and Survey Department Sarawak, Serian Division – Project: “Smart Target Accurate Reference Solution (STARS)”
- SASSOKU TECH, Land and Survey Department Sarawak, Kuching Division – Project: “Loss of Title Online System”
The Sarawak contingent, led by Deputy State Secretary (Operation) Datu Hii Chang Kee and Superi Awang Said, Director of Sarawak Transformation and Innovation Unit, Department of the Premier of Sarawak, expressed pride in their achievements.
A total of 62 ICC Teams from 41 organizations in Malaysia participated in the convention, with 45 groups attending physically on-site and 17 groups participating virtually. The event, themed “Innovation and Vitality, Lighting up the Beauty of Quality,” attracted over 3000 participants from 15 countries.
The ICQCC, often referred to as the “Quality Olympics,” has been held successfully 47 times since its inception in 1976, becoming a renowned platform for participants from diverse industries. — DayakDaily
