Kuching, Padawan, Sibu record highest number of reported police cases as of October

KUCHING, Nov 9: Kuching, Padawan, and Sibu have recorded the highest number of reported police cases in the first 10 months of 2023.

There have been 682 police reports lodged in Kuching, 581 cases in Padawan and 415 cases in Sibu for the period of time.

Bintulu, being the third largest urban centre, registered 319 reported police cases while Miri, being the second largest city, shows a record of 232 cases, according to a report by Sarawak police commissioner Datuk Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri released today at a press conference after the opening of Sarawak Police Headquarters Pavilion.


While Sibu has a comparatively high number of reported crimes, Kanowit, an hour’s drive away, registered only four cases of police reports by October this year.

Song, another district in the Central region, reported only eight police cases, while nearby Dalat recorded a low figure of 10. — DayakDaily
