KUCHING, Feb 7: Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, has pledged full support for integrity services in the State through the implementation of the MS ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management (ABM) Certification.
Abdul Karim expressed his ministry’s commitment to combating corruption in civil services, emphasising the importance of providing integrity services to the people.
He disclosed that his ministry has been chosen as one of the pioneers in this certification programme.
“I was informed that the ministry’s acting permanent secretary is collaborating with the ABM task force to update existing procedures for the successful implementation of the certificate by the beginning of 2025,” he stated during the launch of the MTCP Integrity Day 2024 at a hotel here today.
Abdul Karim highlighted that the ABM certification would specifically target the grant distribution process of the ministry, aiming to ensure transparency within the MTCP.
He urged MTCP staff to understand that integrity encompasses more than just combating corruption; it also entails upholding professionalism and work ethics in service delivery.
“You must always provide quality and positive services as individuals and as part of the organization. Respect yourselves and your colleagues at all times and strive to deliver your best effort,” he emphasized.
