The intiative also saw collaboration with the Royal Malaysian Police, Road Transport Department, Public Works Department (JKR) Kota Samarahan, Samarahan Resident’s Office, Kota Samarahan Municipal Council and Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Sarawak.

The campaign’s objective is to heighten public consciousness regarding road safety amidst the ongoing construction of the KUTS project, with a focus on instilling safer practices among motorists, pedestrians, and construction workers involved in the project.

In addition to promoting adherence to traffic regulations, signage, and safety protocols, the primary goal of the campaign is to mitigate traffic accidents in the vicinity of construction zones.

Sarawak Metro chief executive officer Ts Mazli Mustaffa emphasised the paramount importance of safety, particularly traffic safety, especially with construction activities underway.

“We all play an important part in ensuring the safety of road users and it is crucial for everyone to observe the traffic rules and instructions especially near the construction sites at all time,” he said.
