KUCHING, April 4: Sarawak recorded 328 new Covid-19 cases and one death involving a brought-in-dead (BID) case today.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the BID case was a 79-year-old man from Kuching who passed away on April 2. He had high blood pressure and diabetes.
On the cases breakdown, Kuching recorded the most cases at 95, followed by Miri (63), Sibu (38), Bintulu (32), Samarahan (14), Asajaya (13), Bau (11), Sarikei (9), Sri Aman (6), Betong (6), Subis (6), Meradong (6), Saratok (5), Serian (4), Dalat (4), Mukah (3), Kapit (3), Simunjan (3), Pakan (2), Kanowit (2) while Kabong, Belaga and Lubok Antu recorded one case each.
Of the new cases reported, 163 cases were classified as Category 1 (asymptomatic) and 162 cases as Category 2 (mild symptoms).
The remaining three cases were classified as critical, involving two Category 3 patients who have pneumonia and one Category 4 patient who needs oxygen supply.
The latest figures had pushed the overall State Covid-19 tally to 300,264 and the death toll to 1,691.
SDMC also reported that the DTI Bekenu 2 Cluster in Subis has ended today. ― DayakDaily
