KUCHING, Jan 2: Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS) will bear all costs associated with the funeral management of the Triso Ferry victims.
Expressing empathy and concern for the families of the victims, MIS said this is to take the edge off their grief and bring them some relief.
“With sadness and sympathy due to the tragedy that befallen the victims at the Triso Ferry Wharf, Sebuyau, MIS expresses condolences to their family members and pray for their patience and perseverance under these trying circumstances.
“Out of concern for the families of the victims and to ease their burdens, MIS through its agencies will bear all costs associated with the management of the remains,” it remarked in a statement today.
The council also expressed gratitude to all parties that helped to manage and run matters pertaining to the victims.
The fatal incident that claimed nine lives, including two young children, happened at Triso Ferry Wharf yesterday (Jan 1) when the victims’ four-wheel-drive (4WD) rolled off and sank into the Batang Lupar. —DayakDaily
