According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, incumbent Tanjong Manis MP Dr Ir Yusuf Abdul Wahab said the Mukah Agriculture Department identified the recipients.

“It is expected to help the fishermen, as well as increase their catch and income,” he said during the handover ceremony of Fishermen’s Fishing Equipment Input Assistance (BIPPN) at Kampung Tekajong Hall on Saturday (Oct 29).

Yusuf added the assistance is also part of Semop assemblyman Datuk Abdullah Saidol’s efforts through his allocation to help the fishermen in the area.

During the programme, he also handed over BIPPN assistance in the form of fishing equipment worth RM2,000 to 30 fishermen from Kampung Penuai, Kampung Penibong, and Kampung Salah Kecil. — DayakDaily
