KUCHING, Sept 9: The Sarawak government has allocated RM1 billion for the implementation of the first phase of the Bukit Assek Redevelopment Plan.
Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng added that he and his team are currently drafting the redevelopment master plan.
He said he also proposed to the Premier to hold an exhibition once the plan is ready to explain the developments in the pipeline to the people in Sibu.
“Currently, all Sibu residents are very interested in the redevelopment plan, and they often ask about when the plan will begin implementation.
“So, I have suggested to the Premier of Sarawak that after the master plan is ready, we should hold an exhibition about the plan to explain to the people.
“This is necessary for them to know what the government’s plans are for Sibu,” he said, according to a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas).
Chieng was officiating at the Bukit Assek Mooncake Celebration at Tong Sang Road 1 in Sibu on Tuesday (Sept 6).
Meanwhile, Chieng also thanked Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for being concerned about the people of Sibu and committed to the redevelopment plan. — DayakDaily
