State Disaster Management Committee deputy chairman Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah in a press conference said that eight new cases were recorded at Sarawak General Hospital while one was at Bintulu Hospital.

“As of today, another 76 Person-Under-Investigation (PUI) cases were also reported, and this bring the total cases of PUI to 1,705 cases. From that figure, 1,358 cases are negative and another 74 cases still waiting for test result,” he said.

He added that currently, Kuching recorded the highest number of PUI with 56 cases, followed by Samarahan with eight (8) cases, three (3) cases each in Serian, Miri and Bintulu, two (2) cases in Bau, and one (1) in Simunjan.

Meanwhile, Abdul Karim noted 26 individuals have been arrested by the police for not complying with the Movement Control Order (MCO).

He said that the statistics also showed that public compliance is positive at 96 per cent.

He revealed those arrested are from Kuching (5), Miri (5), Kota Samarahan (5), Padawan (3), Bintulu (2), Meradong(2), Tatau(2), Serian (1) and Bau (1).

On another matter, Abdul Karim noted infection rates in Kota Samarahan are increasing daily.
