Sarawak back to zero positive Covid-19 cases today

KUCHING, July 7: Sarawak moved back to zero new positive Covid-19 cases after one confirmed case surfaced yesterday following an imported case of a student who recently returned from the United Kingdom.

With no new confirmed cases today, the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement said the cumulative number of Covid-19 in Sarawak stood at 572 cases.


It added there are four Covid-19 patients who are receiving treatment in the isolation ward in the hospitals while two patients recovered and discharged from the hospital today.

SDMC said there were 58 new cases of person-under-investigation (PUI) while seven PUI cases are awaiting laboratory results.

On another note, the committee said there were 116 person-under-surveillance (PUS) who registered into hotels to undergo quarantine.

It added that there are currently 697 PUS who are undergoing quarantine at 11 hotels throughout Sarawak.

The committee noted that a total of 17,835 PUS have completed their 14 days quarantine at hotels today. —DayakDaily
