Sarawak Attorney General heads list of 710 ‘Pingat Perkhidmatan Setia’ award recipients

KUCHING, March 20: Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg today conferred ‘Pingat Perkhidmatan Setia’ (Loyal Service Medal) on 710 recipients in Kuching division at an investiture ceremony held at Raia Hotel and Convention Centre here.

The ‘Pingat Perkhidmatan Setia’ is a medal awarded by the Sarawak government as a token of gratitude for civil service personnel who have served for 20 continuous or 25 accumulated years of service.

Sarawak Attorney General Dato Sri Talat Mahmood Abdul Rashid who has over 34 years of service, led the list of recipients.

Also conferred the same award were Sarawak Financial Secretary Dato Sri Dr Wan Lizozman Wan Omar; Sarawak Protocol, Ceremonies and Event Management Unit (UPPANS) director Datuk Mohamad Junaidi Mohidin; and Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan Negeri Sarawak or Sarawak Cabinet executive secretary Datu Azlan Ali Badri.

The event also saw Abang Johari presenting the ‘Pingat Perkhidmatan Setia’ to 23 civil servants who have served their respective departments for 40 or 41 years.

Among the dignitaries present were Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian; Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar; Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom; and Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki. – DayakDaily
