SAR ops for missing Indonesian angler in Lubuk Antu

BETONG, Nov 11: The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) is currently conducting Search and Rescue (SAR) operation to locate a 37-year-old Indonesian man who went missing since Nov 8.

Bomba operations centre disclosed in a statement that the missing man, identified only as Suhadi and his friend was fishing near Rh Bui in Salcra oil palm plantation, Lubok Antu.

When the friend realised the victim was missing, a search was made together with their employer until yesterday evening but they failed to locate him.

A missing person report was lodged at Lubok Antu police district at 7.02pm.

The incident was then referred to Bomba, who began their SAR operations led by Sri Aman fire zone chief PgB Ramlan Marajan with 13 firefighters, K9 unit, police, civil defense and SALCRA personals at 8.30am today.

This morning’s search was divided into three groups, covering a one-kilometer radius from the place where the victim was last seen. – DayakDaily
