SIBU, Feb 6: A retiree has been reported missing after he did not return from a solo fishing trip at Sungai Maaw, Paradom near here yesterday.

According to the man’s wife in her police report, her husband, 63, had at about 8.15am yesterday gone out to catch fish with a fishing net.

“He used to go out to catch fish alone. Yesterday he went alone, also on a longboat. Before leaving the house, he told me that he would be back by 12.30pm as he had to send our children to the airport,” she said.

When the man failed to return home by the mentioned time, the 53-year-old woman went to the site to look for him at 4pm.
