KUCHING, Dec 26: Children of Kampung Tabuan Laru here have a Christmas treat when they were visited by ‘Santa Mayor’ today, together with his ‘elves’ of Zone 3 councillors.
Bringing joy to the village children, Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng distributed Christmas biscuits and candies at a few villages in the Tabuan area.
“This Christmas gift distribution marks the festive occasion of this month and it brings joy to the children in this kampung.
“Putting a smile to the children during this Covid-19 pandemic is one of the ways for us to create strong relationship between the council and the community,” he said in a statement today.
At the same time, Wee took the opportunity to remind those celebrating Christmas and this year-end holiday to strictly follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to keep guard the safety of everyone. — DayakDaily
