Sales executive duped over fake investment, loses RM83,000

MIRI, Oct 22: A sales executive of a private firm here fell victim to a fake investment scheme and lost RM83,000.

According to Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, the police receive a report on the incident yesterday (Oct 21).

“The incident happened after the victim befriended a female friend via social media – ‘tantan’, who lured him to participate in an investment scheme known as PUC Finance, with lucrative profit,” he said.


He said the victim who is in his 20s transferred money to six different bank accounts between Oct 5 to Oct 14.

“For the first three times of his investment, the victim had received his profits, but not the fourth until the eighth (time),” Alexson disclosed.

The victim only realised he had been cheated after not receiving any profits. — DayakDaily
