KUCHING, April 15: Sarawak for Sarawakians (S4S) will be holding a peaceful rally themed ‘Sarawakians will never give up’.
The rally would be held on April 20 at Padang Merdeka here from 2pm to 5pm.
S4S spokesperson Lucas Chin Lu Chi, in a statement, said the rally was meant to protest the recent bill to amend Article 1(2) of the Federal Constitution. The bill failed to garner the two-thirds majority support in Parliament on April 9.
“After the federal government lost their vote to amend Article 1(2), the clash between Sarawak and Malaya has grown day by day.
“This makes Sarawakians more aware that Malaya is trying their best to trap Sarawak. They were also are getting fed up with Malaya.
“Is the amendment bill related to the Steering Committee of Special Cabinet Committee on the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63)? If there is no relation, what is the use of it?” he questioned.
Chin said Sarawakians would never give up and back down on what belongs to the state.
He said Sarawakians wanted 100 per cent back, and if Parliament considered Sarawak as a ‘troublemaker’, then it meant Sarawakians are troublemakers to the Federation of Malaysia. — DayakDaily
