KUCHING, Oct 3: The Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) advises the public to be alert and cautious of impersonators or scams using the department’s name and logo for fraudulent purposes.
According to a press release issued today, the department has received complaints from the public regarding an impersonator or scam using the department’s name and logo to issue a false letter offering to supply goods for the renovation and improvement of the JBALB Baram/Marudi District.
“In a case like this, the department takes the impersonation of using its name for any purpose whatsoever very seriously.
“Therefore, a police report has been made for further action by the authorities,” said the department.
The department once again reminded the public always to be careful and to obtain information and confirmation from it regarding any individual, company, or business using its name before making any transaction.
