KUCHING, May 9: The Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Sebandi Matang sub-branch are urged to give continuous momentum in serving the local community and not to wait for certain seasons like election only.

Kota Samarahan MP Rubiah Wang said the leaders at the grassroots levels must continue to engage with the community especially when many development efforts are currently being implemented in Asajaya.

“The party machinery must not work only in certain seasons such as elections because their services and commitment are continuously needed by the society.

“Many development efforts are currently being implemented in Asajaya, especially to upgrade existing facilities such as roads, water supply and electricity supply through action plans that have been planned and implemented by the Sarawak government.

“Therefore, the involvement of grassroots leaders in monitoring and following the latest developments in their respective areas are important so that the goals and objectives of the development projects in those areas can be achieved perfectly,” she said.

She said this when officiating the ‘Ziarah Ramadan’ programme at Kampung Sebandi Matang, Asajaya yesterday (May 8).

Also present were village chief Bahren Samat and PBB Sebandi Matang sub-branch chief Jaafar Paee.

Earlier, Rubiah also launched the distribution of ‘bubur lambuk’ and ‘bubur pedas’ to about 1,000 residents in Kampung Sebandi Matang and surrounding areas. — DayakDaily
