KUCHING, Apr 15: Deputy Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister II Willie Mongin urges all rubber smallholders to sign up for Rubber Transaction Authority Permit (PAT-G) to receive subsidies of both Sarawak and federal governments.
Rubber smallholders may register at the Sarawak State Agriculture Office as well as any Malaysian Rubber Board (LGM) office so that they can benefit from IPG (rubber production incentive).
Mongin also welcomed the Sarawak government’s initiative to subsidise rubber smallholders by providing an additional RM0.50 per kg on rubber prices, which resulted in total IPG from RM1.40 per kg to RM1.90 per kg.
The Puncak Borneo MP held that this initiative would certainly help ease the burden and increase the income of the smallholders in Sarawak particularly.
He said such an initiative also proves that Sarawak state government and the federal government were serious in defending the fate of the people.
For any further inquiries, rubber smallholders may also call the LGM Hotline at 1- 800-888-474 (Mon-Fri) 9 am-5pm or 019-602 6001, 019-625 7800 after 5.00 pm.—DayakDaily
