KUCHING, March 12: Ramces Tawang has assumed the role of president at the Padawan Adventure 4X4 Club, succeeding Marcellinus Meran Poes, who opted not to seek re-election during the club’s annual general meeting (AGM) held yesterday.

Sanjan Daik, the former secretary, now serves as the deputy president, while Noel Samuel takes over as treasurer, with Kevin None assisting in the role.

The new committee also includes Pisley Neslin @ Roy, Peter Liefmart Apit, and Halix Kuyong as members.

During the meeting, Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin was unanimously reappointed as the patron, with Jimson Jium as the advisor, Roland Ginjih and Sebastian Sakol as auditor and technical advisor, respectively.

Additionally, various other members were appointed to handle publicity, discipline, rescue teams, charity initiatives, event planning, asset management, security, and food and beverages.

Ramces expressed gratitude for the members’ trust and pledged to lead the club effectively for the next two years, ensuring its continued activity and relevance.

“The committee will soon convene to plan out activities and programs for this year and the next, and I encourage members to provide suggestions and feedback,” he stated.

He also urged members to actively participate in the club’s initiatives, which include track upgrades at Massa Eco-Tourism, off-road competitions and training, fundraising activities, and charity works.

Established seven years ago, the club boasts over 60 members and has achieved significant milestones, including the completion of its 4X4 off-track, inaugurated by Willie on Nov 19 last year.

The club has been actively involved in off-road competitions across Sarawak, off-road training sessions, charity efforts for the underprivileged and victims of natural disasters, and providing assistance during the Covid-19 pandemic by transporting food baskets. — DayakDaily
