SERIAN, Feb 25: Kampung Prutan here will have a new multipurpose hall with an allocation of RM300,000 from Assistant Minister of Transport Datuk Dr Jerip Susil.

The project is under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) for the Mambong constituency, which was approved last year.

Today, Dr Jerip, who handed the project to the contractor, said the implementation of the project, along with several projects under the RTP in the area, was delayed due to Covid-19.

“For this project, which started this month, we expect it to be fully completed in August this year,” said Dr Jerip, who is also the assemblyman for Mambong.

Dr Jerip also approved another RM150,000 to tar-seal the road leading to the hall, including its compound.

He urged the contractor to carry out the project within the scope of work.

At the same time, he urged the villagers to fully cooperate with the contractor to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.

Dr Jerip also pointed out that projects will be closely monitored by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and State Implementation and Monitoring Unit (SIMU) in the Chief Minister’s Department.

Later, Dr Jerip officiated at the opening of a RM150,000 bridge project at Kampung Sungai Burung.

Present at both events was Siburan sub-district Sarawak Administrative Officer (SAO) Ranum Bari. — DayakDaily
