SIMUNJAN, Feb 25: Some 1,000 participants are expected to descend on Batang Sadong Bridge for a 3K fun run tomorrow morning, an event organised in conjunction with the fifth anniversary of the longest river bridge in Malaysia.

Any motorists not attending the event are advised to plan their journey in advance and avoid the area or seek alternate routes to get to their destinations.

Samarahan Division Resident Brahim Lumpu emphasised that traffic congestion and disruption will be expected along the Batang Sadong Bridge, where the run event will start from 6am until 10am.

He called on motorists to cooperate and alternate routes between Jalan Simunjan-Gedong-Serian.

The Batang Sadong Bridge 3K Fun Run is also organised as part of the four-day Citrawarna Keluarga Malaysia 2022 programme ongoing at the Kuching Waterfront here, featuring a variety of activities and programmes to showcase the uniqueness and diversity of Sarawak through food, crafts, culture, and so forth.

Federal Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture Dato Sri Nancy Shukri is expected to officiate at the fun run tomorrow.

All runners participating are also reminded to bring their RTK self-test results for registration which starts at 6am. — DayakDaily
