MIRI, April 26: The Sarawak government has allocated RM3.7 million to Miri City Council (MCC) to implement 34 projects in the Senadin constituency.

Minister of Transport Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin explained that the allocation would be used for works involving repair, maintenance and resurfacing of damaged roads and potholes, including roundabouts and intersections applied last year.

“The areas covered are those under the jurisdiction of MCC, all of which were applied for last year,” he told the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas).

He highlighted this when met after inspecting the Permy Technology Park roundabout and Jalan Tudan here on Monday (April 25).

Lee, who is also Senadin assemblyman, added that eight out of 34 projects applied last year under the Malaysian Road Records Information System (MARRIS) for the Senadin constituency had been completed.

“As such, members of the public with problems related to roads and drainage in their respective areas can bring them up to their elected representatives or local community leaders or village chiefs for action to be taken,” he said. — DayakDaily
