KAPIT, March 3: The collapsed Jambatan Serau at Ulu Katibas in Song is in need of urgent repair as accessibility to the nearby village at Nanga Engkuah is now cut off, especially for motorists using the logging road.
In a statement today, DAP Katibas Service Centre co-ordinator Paren Nyawi said, “The bridge linking this timber road is much needed to enable the villagers to get to schools, government clinic, agriculture substation and to several longhouses.
“The issue was raised by road users and the contractor erecting a telecommunication tower at Nanga Engkuah. They are not able to cross over to the other side.”
Paren suggested that the collapsed bridge be replaced with an iron one since the state government planned to build a road to Ulu Katibas from Nanga Banjot passing through Lubok Bedil to Makut at Nanga Engkuah. — DayakDaily
