KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5: Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri has been tested positive for Covid-19.

The information was disclosed by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in a press statement.

Muhyiddin said he chaired the special meeting of the National Security Council (MKN) on October 3 in which Zulkifli also attended.

The prime minister said the Health Ministry has conducted Covid-19 swab test on all the members and secretariat who attended the meeting.

Based on the risk assessed by the Health Ministry, Muhyiddin said close contacts during the meeting were given letters of monitoring and home surveillance order (HSO) for 14 days as well as being attached with wristbands starting from October 3.

He said all the members of the meeting who were not close contact were also required to undergo self-quarantine for 14 days from October 3 to October 16.

Muhyiddin said they were also required to perform self-health monitoring at home every day using the home assessment tool in the MySejahtera app.

“I will be undergoing self-quarantine at home for 14 days according to the advice given by the Health Ministry.

“Nonetheless, this will not affect the administration of the government.

“I will be working from home and use video conferencing for meetings when necessary,” he said in the statement.

Muhyiddin said as precautionary measures to prevent Covid-19 infection, he has undergone Covid-19 swab test every two weeks since April and all his results were negative.

He added that he has also undergone Covid-19 swab test thrice in three weeks, that was on September 22, 26 and 29 and all the results were negative as well —DayakDaily
