Quarantine patient escapes SGH

KUCHING, Apr 11: A 15-year-old teenager under quarantine escaped from the quarantine sector of Sarawak General Hospital on Friday afternoon but was caught the same day.

The police brought the teenager to Gita Police Station after receiving a call from the public near Taman Hussein area.


According to police, the teenager later confessed that he had escaped from the quarantine sector of the hospital on Friday afternoon and was brought to the park by his friends but was subsequently left at the park alone due to unknown reasons.

The teenager had been suffering breathing difficulties and was sent to SGH for a check-up and was quarantined on Thursday.

An ambulance was contacted to take the teenager back to the hospital to continue the quarantine while a disinfection process was also carried out at Gita police station.—DayakDaily
