KUCHING, Sept 2: Royal Malaysian Navy Veterans Association (PVTLDM) Sarawak distributed food aid to 33 households affected by the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in Taman Samarindah, yesterday.
According to PVTLDM Sarawak president Muhammad Ruslan Sain Abdullah in a statement today, the food aid distribution program was conducted to help ease the burden of those affected by the EMCO.
He added the same programme were also conducted for the residents in Opar area, in Bau, and the assistance was handed over together with the association’s committee members.
For the record, Taman Samarindah was imposed with the EMCO implementation since Aug 17, until Aug 30, 2021, covering housing areas from Lorong 1 to 27, following positive cases linked to the Bandar Riyal Cluster.
On Aug 20, the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) extended the EMCO implementation in Taman Samarindah from Lorong 28 to 32, following the advice from Samarahan Health Office and additional cases of infection reported in the local community. – DayakDaily.
