KUCHING, Nov 2: With less than 24-hours to go before Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidates get their official endorsement letter or watikahs on Nov 3, Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) women chief Dato Sri Doris Brodie admit she is a little anxious about her candidacy as the 15th General Election (GE15) nears.

Doris, who hopes that she will get her watikah on her candidacy tomorrow, added that despite being anxious, she is also mentally and physically prepared.

“Although I have moved on the ground since November 2019, I will not rest on my laurels; the war is not over until the battle is won,” she told DayakDaily.

“I will continue to reach out to the people to create awareness of GPS initiatives and ongoing development plans for Sri Aman,” she added.

She added that the three GPS ADUNs under Sri Aman had done well in serving their constituents over the years.

“But we need an elected Member of Parliament from GPS to complete the representation.

“This is to have a voice to represent Sri Aman in the lower house. It is not only to claim and acquire appropriate projects and development allocations for Sri Aman but to be the voice of the Sri Aman people.

She added that in so far as PRS women’s election machinery is concerned, whether in Sri Aman or all other PRS constituencies, there were all fully prepared.

“In all of these six parliamentary constituencies allocated PRS, fifty percent are women voters. Despite already being in ready mode, we cannot and will not be complacent about ensuring overwhelming support for GPS, especially from women voters this coming GE15.

“I, thus call all women voters to consolidate to ensure victory for GPS. We need strong voices in the lower house to seek and speak on Sarawak’s needs and rights,” she said. — DayakDaily
