BINTULU, Aug 3: A kitchen fire at the food court of a shopping mall here was extinguished by the premises’ security personnel before firefighters arrived early this morning.
In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 1.18am, and firefighters from the Bintulu station were deployed.

Upon arrival at the scene, it was noted that the fire involved a cooking stove and had already been extinguished by the premises’ security personnel using a fire extinguisher.
No firefighting operation was carried out, and Bomba only monitored the scene’s safety before returning to the station.
