Premier attends SDMC briefing virtually despite being quarantined

KUCHING, March 12: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg attended a briefing session with the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) virtually yesterday (March 10) as he continues to work from home.

He is currently undergoing home quarantine after tested positive for Covid-19 on March 7, 2022.

According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, despite being in isolation, with his condition improving and looking quite healthy, he managed to attend the briefing session through Zoom for an hour.

The briefing deliberated on Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP), guidelines to the Endemic Phase, matters concerning the VTL (Vaccinated Travel Lane) and the reopening of the country’s borders from April 1 this year.

The briefing also received views and suggestions specifically on the opening of all national borders, especially the border of Sarawak with neighboring countries where several resolutions have been made which will be announced by SDMC in the near future.

Also present were Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian as well as Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah. ā€” DayakDaily
