MIRI, Dec 11: An upgrade of a section of the existing road at Tudan Resettlement Scheme under ‘Projek Rakyat’ is expected to open more space for stage buses and larger vehicles to pass through, says Minister of Transport Sarawak Dato Seri Lee Kim Shin.
“Once completed, it would benefit more than 2,000 households within area (Tudan Resettlement Scheme Area),” he said today after conducting a visit to the project site.
Lee who is also Senadin assemblyman added, that Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has approved a special grant worth RM4.72 million to help fund the project.
The project would involve road widening, covering a 6-kilometre long and 6-metre width stretch.
Lee disclosed that the project commenced on November 21 this year with the progress currently at 9 per cent, and is scheduled for completion by May 20 next year. — DayakDaily
