Pregnant woman pleads guilty to shoplifting charge, released on good behaviour bond

KUCHING, Aug 21: A mother who is also 3 months’ pregnant was released on a bond of good behavior after pleading guity to a charge of stealing baby clothing.

Then P.S., 39, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Nuruhuda Mohd Yusof who ordered the accused to execute a bond of good behavior under Section 294 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC) in the sum of RM 2,000 for a period of two years.


She was found guilty of stealing a dress and four different branded shirts at about 6.10pm on August 14, 2019, at a chain retail store in a shopping mall here.

She was charged under Section 380 of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment term which may extend to 10 years and shall liable to a fine, upon conviction.
