Man left RM600 poorer after smash and grab

MIRI, Aug 21: A 20-year-old car owner was shocked to find a big hole and shattered glass where his car’s back seat window should have been when returning to his vehicle on Sunday night.

Thieves had smashed the window and carted off items inside.

According to sources, prior to the 10pm incident, the car was parked at a parking lot along a back alley adjacent to a shopping mall at Jalan Bintang here.

The car owner subsequently filed a police report.

Amongst items reported missing were one of his siblings’ MyKad, a driving licence and a security access card to his family house.

The total loss is estimated at RM600.

Police are investigating the incident.
