SERIAN, Nov 3: A shop selling baking ingredients and accessories, plastic items and frozen food was destroyed in an early morning fire today.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Depatment operations centre in a statement said they received a distress call at 5.22am.
Two fire engines from the Serian and Siburan stations were dispatched to the scene.
“When the firemen arrived at the scene, the premises with an estimated area of 30’ x 60’ was burning with thick smoke.
“No injuries was reported in the incident which totally destroyed the ground floor,” the statement said.
Firefighters succeeded in preventing the fire from spreading to the neighbouring units and managed to put out the flames completely by 7am.-DayakDaily
