Police report lodged against Bau individual for violating HSO

KUCHING, Oct 17: A police report was lodged against a man who violated the mandatory 14-day quarantine as part of the precaution against Covid-19 infection.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) disclosed that the man was earlier instructed to undergo Home Surveillance Order (HSO).

“He was found missing from his home in Bau today when police conducted HSO checks. A police report was lodged against the man for breaching the order and investigation is ongoing,” SDMC secretariat said in a statement.

It was reported that a man wearing the HSO wristband was seen in Bau bazaar today.

Meanwhile, police have also issued nine compound notices for violations of Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) in Kuching (three), Sarikei (three), Miri (two) and Betong (one).

A total of 1,427 vehicles were inspected from six roadblocks in five districts namely Lundu (two) and one each in Bau, Serian, Sri Aman and Lubok Antu.

Compliance checks were also carried out on 1,491 premises throughout Sarawak involving 246 supermarkets, restaurants (273), factories (10), banks (107), government offices (85), hawkers (41), markets (58), houses of worship (72), recreational areas (37), construction sites (20) and others (542). —DayakDaily
