KUCHING, Dec 7: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is set to prioritise deploying newly graduated constables who have completed their basic police training to Sarawak.
In a news report by TVS, Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) director Datuk Seri Khaw Kok Chin explained that this decision addresses the higher number of vacancies in Sarawak compared to other states.
“For Sarawak, we will ensure every vacancy is filled. Bukit Aman’s Training Management Division will coordinate with the Sarawak Police Contingent Headquarters to identify the required positions.
“The deployment will be carried out in phases, and we are committed to ensuring Sarawak is not overlooked. I have discussed this with the deputy director of Training Management, and Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata has confirmed the vacancies, which will be our priority,” he stated.
Khaw made these remarks at a press conference following the Passing-Out Parade for the 73rd Series of the Police Constable Basic Training Programme (PLAK) 8/2024 at the Kuching Police Training Centre (Pulapol) today.
A total of 338 female police constables completed the training, which commenced on June 9 and concluded on Dec 8.
The trainees will be assigned nationwide based on the needs and vacancies at the State Police Contingent Headquarters or District Police Headquarters.
Notable achievements during the training include Constable Nur Putri Yasmin Noor Azmee being named Best Academic Trainee, Constable Nurul Aina Ahmad Khalil receiving the Best Outdoor Training Trainee award, and Constable Nur Syazratul Najwa Khairo Anuar being honoured as the Overall Best Trainee. — DayakDaily
