Police officer Aldrin Gonda laid to rest in home village

SERIAN, April 22: Fallen police officer ASP Aldrin Gonda was laid to rest at his home village of Kampung Terbat Leban this morning.

Aldrin, 38, was attached to Kota Setar District Narcotics Crime Investigation Division in Kedah when he met a fatal road accident while on duty at Alor Setar, on April 19.

Police officers led by Serian police district chief DSP Aswandy Anis escorted the casket from Aldrin’s parents’ house to the village cemetery about 300 metres away.

Family members had earlier gathered to pay their final respects during the 9.30am private funeral service.

Aldrin’s wife and son are seen casting earth into his grave during the burial service.

Afterwards, several officers and relatives joined in the short funeral procession to the cemetary.
