SIBU, Oct 14: Police are tracking a suspect believed to be involved in a hit and run accident that resulted in the death of a female motorcyclist at Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce early this morning.
Sibu District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner (ACP) Zulkipli Suhaili said the accident happened near the traffic light intersection at 5.18am.
“The victim, who is a 38-year-old local woman, is believed to have been hit while heading towards the Jalan Salim traffic lights,” he said.
As a result of the incident, he said, the victim suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Sibu Hospital ambulance team.
He said members of the public who have information about the incident are requested to report it to the nearest police station or contact the investigating officer, Inspector Din Jumit on 013-8297707.
