SIBU, July 30: Police are tracking down a man known as ‘Small Apple’, who allegedly sent obscene photos and videos to two women in a case of online sexual harassment that recently went viral on social media.
In a TVS news report, Sibu District Police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili confirmed that the two victims have come forward and lodged reports alleging that the suspect had sent them unsolicited obscene photos and videos.
“The first report was filed on July 25 by a 33-year-old woman who stated she had known the suspect since 2022.
“The suspect allegedly sent nude photos of himself, claiming he was seeking the victim’s opinion,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (July 29).
The second report was lodged the following day by a 40-year-old woman.
“Initially, their conversation revolved around health topics, but it later took a turn when the suspect began sending explicit images and videos,” he added.
The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for acts intended to insult the modesty of a person. Upon conviction, the offence carries a penalty of up to five years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both.
Zulkipli urged anyone with information on the suspect to contact Investigating Officer Inspector Magdaline at 019-8153727 or to report to the nearest police station to assist with the investigation. — DayakDaily
