SIBU, Nov 29: Police have identified the body of a man who was found floating between two ferries in Sungai Batang Igan, yesterday.

Sibu District Police Chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said today that the deceased was in his 40s and had mental problems.

“An Indonesian woman had confirmed that the deceased is her husband based on the identification of the tattoo on the right arm and the blue shorts worn by the deceased when he was last seen three days ago before the body was found.

“The deceased’s wife also informed that her husband had mental problems,” he said.

Earlier, he explained, the police had received information from the public regarding the discovery of the body near a shipyard in Jalan Sungai Maaw here at 8.15am yesterday (Tuesday).

He said, when the body was found, it was found without a shirt and only wearing blue shorts, stuck in the gap between two ferries.

“The results of the police’s further examination of the deceased found that there were no external injuries and no elements of crime.

“The autopsy process will be conducted on Nov 30 at 9am and the case will be classified as a Sudden Death Report (SDR),” he said. — DayakDaily
