KUCHING, Nov 28: Malaysia is politically stable after a year of the unity government’s administration thanks to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), says Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He said the unity government, which was formed in late November 2022, has achieved a lot of milestones within a year.

“We have talked about energy transition, digital transformation and economic vibrancy because we are politically stable.

“We also have more than two-thirds majority in Parliament but I just want to say that I cannot ignore the fact that Premier Abang Jo and GPS have played a vital role in this regard.

“Thus, to me, this is also an occasion of celebration where in the first few months (of administration), there was somewhat minor turbulence but now (the Federal government) is politically stable to focus on the economy and energy transition,” he said during the 2nd edition of Global Muslim Business Forum (GMBF) 2023 held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here earlier tonight.

Also present were Indonesian vice president Ma’ruf Amin, Abang Johari, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan who is also GMBF 2023 organising chairman, KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific chairman Tan Sri Majid Khan and Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (ICCIA) president Abdullah Saleh Kamel. — DayakDaily
