KUCHING, May 3: No new Covid-19 clusters have been reported in the whole of Sarawak today.
According to the reports by State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the last time Sarawak recorded zero Covid-19 clusters was on April 24 which was over a week ago.
In the past eight days, there were at least two new clusters declared each day and the day with the highest record during this period was on April 29 with six new clusters.
With that, Sarawak has a total of 76 active clusters across 26 districts as of today.
Out of the 76, Kuching holds the highest number of nine active clusters, followed by Miri with seven, Sibu and Serian with six each, Meradong and Bintulu with five each.
Sri Aman and Selangau each have four active clusters and Kanowit still has three on its plate.
Kapit, Betong, Matu, Saratok, Mukah, Julau, Tatau, Sebauh, Bau and Beluru each have two while Samarahan, Sarikei, Marudi, Subis, Bukit Mabong, Belaga and Lundu each have one cluster not expired yet.
A Covid-19 cluster would only be declared to be expired after a clean state of zero cases for 28 consecutive days.
Of the total today, 14 clusters recorded an increase of 62 new cases while the other 62 clusters did not. — DayakDaily
