KUCHING, July 21: The Miri-Marudi, Marudi-Mulu (Kuala Melinau), Long Panai-Long Lama (MMMLL) Road Phase 1 project continues to record encouraging progress, with both Package 1 and Package 2 currently performing approximately 10-15 per cent ahead of schedule.
In a Facebook post, the Regional Corridor Development Authority (Recoda) said this followed a recent monthly progress meeting where a site inspection was held to review the latest construction progress and ensure works remain on track.
“Current activities include earthworks, ground treatment, culvert installation, drainage works, and other critical construction works across both packages.
“Regular progress meetings and site inspections enable us to closely monitor implementation, resolve issues promptly, and ensure the timely delivery of this strategic infrastructure project, which will improve connectivity and support socio-economic growth in northern Sarawak,” it said.
The RM3.8 billion project, first launched on Nov 15, 2025, is expected to be completed by 2029 and is set to significantly impact development in the Baram area.
It will provide a comprehensive transportation network, including 142km of main road alignment, 30.5km of access roads linking villages, and the construction of 11 major bridges and 11 minor bridges. — DayakDaily
