KUCHING, June 7: Persatuan Anak Istimewa Sarawak (Perais) has launched the Food Basket Fund to help persons with special needs (OKU) affected by the ongoing Movement Control Order (MCO) which will end on June 14.
Its president Rapelson Richard Hamit also called on the wider community to channel contributions either in the form of money or food aid to the association for distribution to the MCO-affected OKUs.
“The elderly, the bedridden and those whose families have young children who are in need of milk powder and disposable diapers are also given attention,” he said in a statement today.
Rapelson also requested that the State Social Welfare Department (JKMS) channel food aid to the affected OKU as announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin last year.
“The assistance can help the OKU temporarily during the next two weeks to ensure that food is always available on their table,” he added.
Financial contributions may be channeled to Perais’s CIMB Bank account (no: 8604183977) or contact Rapelson at 011-19882210 or his secretary Annuar Putit@Fadelize at 014-5819672 for donations in the form of food items.
Donors are advised to email donation receipts to perais.swk@gmail.com or WhatsApp a picture of the receipt to the Perais auditor Steve at 012-8086989 for audit purposes. — DayakDaily
