KUCHING, June 7: Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar James Jemut Masing has called for Hornbill Skyways Sdn Bhd pilots to be given priority in receiving Covid-19 vaccinations.

In making this call, he said he was quite surprised to learn that the pilots from the aviation company, who are piloting ministers all over the place, haven’t been vaccinated.

“They (pilots) are among the frontliners. The State government should take vaccination of Hornbill pilots more seriously.

“If they are quarantined because of Covid-19 positive (sic), then Hornbill Skyways will be rendered immobilised,” he said in a statement today.

On June 6, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has listed Hornbill Skyways as among premises exposed to Covid-19 risk in Kuching district.

It is understood that a positive case believed to be the company’s worker was in the said premises on May 31, from 8am to 5pm. — DayakDaily
