“Communities continue to invite me to their longhouses, and I feel a responsibility to respond, listen to their concerns and assist wherever possible,” he said in a statement following his recent visits to Rumah Sura, Rumah Bandang and Rumah Jarop along Batang Rajang.

Wilson said the visits also provided an opportunity to share updates on matters concerning Pelagus and explain the importance of continued support for the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government.

“Twelve longhouse chiefs accompanied me during the visits. They expressed their strong support for my renomination to defend the Pelagus seat in the forthcoming Sarawak Election. I sincerely appreciate their trust and encouragement,” he said.

During the visits, he also inspected progress of the seven-kilometre Upper Rajang Development Agency (URDA) road project under Phase 1, Section 1, connecting Rumah Mengga to Rumah Diau at Pulau Raya, Batang Rajang.

“My commitment to the people of Pelagus continues. I will remain accessible and responsive to their needs, while respecting the applicable election rules,” he added. — DayakDaily
