Tan Sri Abang Khalid Marzuki passed away at Pantai Hospital in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.

KUCHING, Feb 4: Malaysian Association of Malay Vehicle Importers and Traders (PEKEMA) Sarawak branch president Tan Sri Abang Khalid Marzuki has passed away this morning.

Abang Khalid, who was diagnosed with bowel cancer, breathed his last at 5.43am in Pantai Hospital, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.

His remains will be flown back to Kuching and brought to the Samariang Islamic Cemetery for burial.

According to Astro Awani, Abang Khalid was diagnosed with cancer at Timberland Specialist Medical Center after complaining of stomach pain on Nov 25 last year.

He then sought further treatment at the Pantai Hospital on Dec 15.

Apart from Pekema, Abang Khalid was also the Sarawak Sepak Takraw Association president and Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Samariang branch deputy chief.

Abang Khalid left behind his widow, Puan Sri Lily Johari, seven children, and eight grandchildren. — DayakDaily
